We need to get a rough estimate of how many people will be attending the June camping trip so we can reserve the right number of campsites.  Please take 30 seconds to fill out the form at the link below.   Even if you know you will not be attending please respond via the link below so we have a clear count of who is not going.  This is a non-binding show of hands to see who is interested.

The June camping trip is a 2 night event - Friday June 21st to Sunday June 23rd.  We will be camping at Quechee State park in Vermont and hiking around Quechee Gorge and exploring the surrounding area on Saturday and Sunday morning.  Arrival will either be Friday afternoon or Friday evening.  Approximate cost will be $40 - $45 per person.

Bike Sale All Hands on Deck

Posted on Apr 24 2019 - 3:11pm
Hi all,

The Bike Sale is fast approaching (11 days) and to make it successful we need your help.  As the primary fundraiser for the troop, it is an All-Hands-On-Deck event.

We have created a SignupGenius identifying general time slots and positions for both SCOUTS and ADULTS.  Please sign up for any position that your available for.  If your only available for part of a time period, that's ok, just make a note of it.

Those of you who signed up on the paper form, Thank you.  The SignupGenius has been completed for you.  Check it, but you should be all set.

The Troop's Bike and Sporting Goods Sale is consistently a huge success thanks to all of your support!

Hollingsworth & Vose Company visit and Pulp and Paper merit badge - Don't miss out!

Posted on Mar 21 2019 - 8:14am

We have been offered a great opportunity to visit a local Groton company named Hollingsworth & Vose who will be hosting the Pulp and Paper merit badge on March 18th.

This is a great opportunity to complete a merit badge in one evening and experience some of the inner working of a local high-tech company. Additional details from Mr. Witsch below.

I would like to introduce to you the ability to earn the Pulp and Paper Merit Badge.  This is a STEM merit badge!  The Pulp and Paper merit badge is an option for the Harris Bronze Supernova, and Edison Silver Supernova STEM Nova Awards

I work for a company called Hollingsworth & Vose in West Groton MA.  You may not know us, but you likely use one of our products either in your house, your car, you batteries, your cell phone and many other places.  We make advanced materials in the form of paper products.  I’m glad to let you know that our company supports this effort and will allow us to use our labs for you to learn about paper making and to let you create your own paper.

The sessions will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on March 18th and March 26th – you need only attend one!

What’s Needed:

  1. Proper Dress - no loose clothing, long pants, socks, shoes with solid coverings (no mesh) – hiking boots in general are ideal

This is a no cost to you opportunity to learn and possibly think about a career.
