Have Troop Equipment at home? Please bring to this week's Troop meeting

Posted on Dec 20 2023 - 7:14pm

Hello,  Many of you have Troop equipment (tents, patrol boxes, dutch ovens, pots and pans, etc) at home being cleaned and dried out from recent trips.  Please bring this equipment to this week's Troop meeting so it can be returned to the Trailer in preparation for future camping trips.

In particular, we are looking for our Cast Iron Wok that has gone missing....if you happen to have it please bring it on Thursday!

Pennsylvania Trip Survey Form - Everyone please complete by Thursday Dec 14th.

Posted on Dec 13 2023 - 3:13pm

Hi Scouts! Troop 437 is planning a four-day, three-night road trip to Philadelphia and eastern Pennsylvania, leaving Saturday morning, April 13, and returning Tuesday evening, April 16.  This is at the beginning of April school vacation week.

In order to plan all the details and figure out the costs, we're requesting that ALL scouts/parents fill out the PA trip survey form by Thursday, December 14 to let us know if you do plan on going, might go, or definitely can't go.  (Note that this is just a survey form, not a commitment to attend. A signup form will be distributed in February.)

The form has all of the current details for the trip, including a coal mine tour, cave tour, Valley Forge, Amish country, and a day in Philadelphia!  Please click through to the form, read all the details, and fill out and submit the form today so we can get a rough idea of how many scouts and adults would like to go.

Any questions, please email Troy Evangelista, trip organizer, at phaellot@yahoo.com.

Disability Awareness and Inclusion Seminar - October 15th 7PM

Posted on Oct 11 2023 - 6:58pm

Hello area Scouters and friends,

My name is Karyn Crouthamel, I am currently the Cubmaster for Pack 107 Chelmsford and a committee member for Troop 437G Westford/Chelmsford. I am hosting a seminar on How to Teach Disability Awareness and Inclusion in a Positive and Constructive Way. This is a common meeting topic for Packs and Troops. I will cover teaching and becoming more aware of people with physical disabilities and how to help others (youth and adults) understand that adapting activities to their ability is what is important.  It is not seeing their life as harder than an able bodied person. If we adapt activities then we all have opportunities. I am not discussing "how to adapt" scouting activities, but that is the other important step to becoming more inclusive.

I have attached my flier, please feel free to distribute to any adults or youth in BSA, GSU, and anyone outside scouting that is interested.

When and Where:
• October 15, 2023 @ 7:00 pm
• Fellowship Hall at the Central Congregational Church of Chelmsford. 1 Worthen Street, Chelmsford 01824

Additionally, I am also registered with T437 as the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge counselor and would be happy to help scouts that want to earn this badge.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am planning on recording and sharing this seminar as a resource on different scouting sites. If you are unable to attend Oct 15th, but would like the recording, please send me an email.

Thank you for considering coming to my seminar. I look forward to the opportunity.
