Either way, Troop 437 welcomes all youth to come and experience the adventure of scouting!  Visit one of our meetings to experience what Scouting is all about and what makes Troop 437 a great Scout Troop.

2025 Summer Camp at Camp Wanocksett

September Rafting Trip sign-ups now open - Due August 4th

Sign-up by August 4th. Please submit Troop Permission Slip, Crab Apple White Water Rafting Waiver form, check made out to Troop 437 

 Back by popular demand our September trip will be a white water rafting trip on the Kennebec River in Maine. We will be camping at Crab Apple Whitewater’s group campsite.  We will meet on Saturday afternoon at Crab Apple Whitewater, set up camp & take a short hike to see Moxie Falls (approx. 1 mile). Sunday morning we will have a breakfast buffet at Crab Apple before embarking on our white water rafting adventure!  The trip will entail rafting through Class III-IV rapids.  A guide from our outfitter, Crab Apple Whitewater, will lead each boat.  A grilled lunch will be provided after the rafting. Approximate time on the river will be 3-4 hours. The trip finishes at the outfitter’s facility where they have a pool and hot tub available.

Important Note:  All scouts must pass the BSA swim test to attend.  Scouts who passed the test at camp or for Seabase are all set.   If needed, a time to take the test can be arranged before the trip.

Time to sign up! Epic June Aerial Adventure - June 23rd/24th - Sign-ups due June 14th

The June trip for Troop 437 will be a one-night camping trip at Osceola Vista campground. This trip includes a day hike on Saturday in the vicinity of Osceola Mtn. Sign-ups are due June 14th.  Participant must submit a Troop permission slip and a Loon Aeriel Adventure Liability Waiver.


 


This Week's Troop Meeting

This weeks troop meeting we are going to finish the planter boxes that we started last week and with the rest of the time we are going to do rank advancement. This is a great opportunity to finish up anything you need for this upcoming court of honor. And we will also have plenty of time for games so people can bring in new games for the troop meeting.

Reminder - Medical Forms need updating

All scouts need to submit an updated annual medical form.  These forms are due June 14th and should be submitted to Mr. Barnard.

If you are going to SeaBase you will need to fill out out this form containing parts A, B, and C and the SeaBase risk advisory.  A Dr's signature is required on part C.  This is also good for summer camp.  Please turn in a copy of the form to Mr. Cutbill for SeaBase.

If you are going to summer camp you will need to fill out this form containing parts A, B, and C.  A Dr's signature is required on part C.

If you are not going to Summer camp  you can use this form containing parts A and B only.  No Dr's signature is required

Summer Camp Registration - Final payments due tonight

Final payments for summer camp are due tonight.  There is still time to signup - If you have been sitting on the fence and want to go to camp bring your signup form and payment tonight!!!  Signups can happen later but the fee will be higher as the council will be imposing a late payment fee.

 

Registration for Troop Week at Camp Wah-Tut-Ca are now due. Please find the Troop registration form link using the button below.  

Please return a copy indicating if your Scout will/won’t be attending camp for our records.  We are looking to receive a response from every scout!

If your Scout will be attending camp, here is the simple timetable and cost covered in the form: 

  • Camp Week is July 29th – August 4th.
  • Discounted camp fee is $410.00.
  • Registration form and $50.00 deposit due by Thursday, March 22nd.
  • Remaining balance of $360.00 due by May 3rd.
  • BSA Medical forms due by June 14th.

This Weekend! - Camp Wanocksett / Mt Monadnock - Fishing and Day Hiking Trip - Sign-up tonight!

Mt MonadnockSign up today for the April trip!  We will be fishing and day hiking in the Mt. Monadnock area April 28-29! We will be camping at BSA Camp Wanocksett in Dublin NH.

Due to the time of year, the weather will be unpredictable. Please be prepared for cold weather. The Mt. Monadnock summit can experience winter-like conditions even in summer. Scouts should plan to bring boots, long pants, layered clothing, jacket, rain gear, hat, gloves, and a small day pack for the hike.

Additional equipment needed: tent with a rain fly (sharing arranged with other scout(s)), sleeping pad, sleeping bag, mess kit, several extra pairs of socks, spare pair of shoes, flashlight with good batteries, water bottle, compass, map, sports gear, and fishing gear / license, where appropriate.
