Our Boston city trip is this weekend.  The interest in the trip has exceeded the cabin capacity at Camp Sayer.  We need 7 or 8 volunteers to bring and sleep in tents on Saturday night.  Please let the Scoutmaser know if you would be willing to stay in a tent.

Signups for the backpacking trip are due at this week's troop meeting.  If you want to attend it is important that you signup this week so that we can ensure equipment and meals are able to be prepared.

The November trip will be a backpacking trip in New Hampshire.  This will be an easy trip meant to be an introductory backpacking experience.  Over the next few weeks the scouts will be reviewing the essentials of successful backpacking at troop meetings.   We will meet at the AMC Mount Cardigan Lodge, 774 Shem Valley Road, Alexandria, NH on Saturday morning, conduct a final gear check and step off on the trail. We will travel between 4 to 6 miles on this introductory backpacking trip. We will stop along the trail for lunch (that your son will bring from home). After lunch and some more exploring we will continue on down the trail to our overnight backpacking site. On Sunday morning we will enjoy a backpacking breakfast, break camp and move to the pickup location at the AMC Mount Cardigan Lodge, 774 Shem Valley Road, Alexandria, NH.

Our popcorn fundraiser is drawing to a close this week.  Please bring all popcorn orders and payments to this week

s troop meeting.  If you have popcorn product that is not sold please also return that to the troop meeting.

The fall Legion cleanup is this Saturday from 10:00am to noon.  This is a great opportunity for the scout troop to give back to our sponsoring organization.  The work will include stacking firewood, raking, and trash pickup.  Please come on by on Saturday morning and help out - bring your work gloves!  This activity does qualify for service hours.
