The May trip for Troop 437 will be a camping trip at Lafayette Place Campground. This trip includes a day hike on Saturday near Franconia Notch State Park. On Sunday morning, we will visit Alpine Adventures Zipline in Lincoln NH for th eultimate Zip-Line adventure. To find out more about the zip line activity, visit http://www.alpinezipline.com.
Participants will have the choice between two zip-line courses:
The Treetop Tour starts with a gentle ground take-off to put you in the trees. If you’ve never been with us before, we recommend this adventure. It’s a great introduction to ziplining, or for those looking to explore the forest canopy up close and personal. Perfect for families, beginners and thrill seekers alike. Tour has 6 ziplines and one suspension bridge and takes about 2 hours to complete with a group of 13, including a shuttle from our office on Main Street and an exciting Off-Road ride up to the start of the course.
The SkyRider Tour is a bit more of a thrill ride with longer, higher & faster lines than the Treetop Tour. It’s recommended for guests who have ziplined before or enthusiastic first timers and adrenaline junkies as it begins from Treewalk Village, 60′ off the ground! This course takes 2½ hours to complete with a group of 13, including a shuttle from our office on Main Street and exciting Off-Road ride up to the start of the course.
Sign-ups are due April 27th with the required Alpine Adventure waiver form.
We have been asked to participate in the Westford Memorial day activities on Sunday, May 29th
Parade - Scouts from all the town Troops are being asked to come out and march in the opening parade (starting at the library, marching past all the war memorials in the center of town, and then ending at the bandstand). Please plan on attending and participating. The time and meeting place will be announced shortly.
The Scout Flag Folding Team is coming back! This has been a very special part of the Memorial Day ceremony that has been missing for the last several years. We are looking for a couple of scouts to participate in the flag folding event during the Memorial Day ceremony. If you are able and willing to attend a practice session before the event and be present on the common for the Memorial Day services please let your scoutmaster know.
Please take some time to participate in the parade and help out on the flag team to honor our veterans and our flag!
Everyone who signed up for merit badge college should have received information packages about the sessions you will be in. Remember that you likely have some pre-work to complete (see the particular package you received) and you will need to get your Blue Cards signed by the Scoutmaster.
